O’Bannon Woods State Park lies in the central and extreme southern part of the state, bordering the Ohio River. It has a uniquely restored, working haypress barn, complete with oxen for power and a pioneer farmstead, and Wyandotte Cave tours. Indiana’s first natural and scenic river, Blue River, flows through the state park and forest.

“Living History Farmstead Day,” featuring an 1850s Haypress demonstration with live oxen, takes place at O’Bannon Woods State Park. The park’s short-horned oxen not only run the Haypress, but are available for a “meet and greet.” Also featured are a working blacksmith shop, pioneer homestead, tomahawk throwing and a variety of pioneer demonstrations.
